I have one wish for Avast which is that issues with shutting down and starting up Windows could be solved.  The two affected Windows systems (7 and 10) both function correctly with alternatives to Avast.

NEW Avast Version 22.2 (February 2022)
Hi, all. Please welcome the newest version of Avast AV: 22.2 (22.2.6003)
Major public announcement:
  • Firewall Rules In Firewall you can once again create application rules manually without waiting for apps to connect to the internet
Good to see Avast listened to customer feedback about it. It shouldn't have been deleted in the first place, but I'm happy that it's back.
Thank you.[/list]

Software updater in this version seems slow to load programs. Still loading.... it should be fixed.

BTW I think Software updater and Network inspector should be part of Smart scan.

This is just an antivirus. I thought it was an AdBlock update as well? I am starting to get messages saying "oh, you are using an add block give us 30$ to continue"

Not in my Avast Free 22.2. Smart scan only scan browsers, viruses and advanced threats.

No really reinstall is not magic solution for everything. According this post SU was removed by purpose. https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=276498.msg1620370#msg1620370

Has there been any reported issues with boot scans on this version? I ran one today it and the scan hung at two percent for like three hours.

1. Hmmm, probably related to your system/setup, I haven't seen any similar reports.
2. That's a new feature (UI themes), currently available in beta only. (See screenshot)

I personally think the light color isn't very attractive and washed-out looking.

True and there is not much difference between dark and standart. Most users install AV and forget about it, so i think Avast should focus on more important things than changing colors. I personaly liked minimalistic UI of Avast 12. Today Avast AV feels so heavy.
