Virus update question

I had a quick question. I saw that Avasts virus database was updated today(3/9/04), yet I did not see nor hear the popup that usually tells me that the virus database has been updated.  My Avast program shows that it was updated with todays date, yet in event viewer, it shows that the 8th was the last update. Whats up with that?

The virus database update was released shortly after midnight (9/3/2004). Is it possible that (because of your time-zone) it was still 8/3/2004 for you?
