Avast One Killing my DNS conections
« on: November 08, 2022, 03:50:30 PM »
As the title states - all DNS lookups are down across all apps on startup and the issue resolves itself once Avast One's Antivirus shields are disabled.

Would love to get an update on this and a potential timeline for a fix.

Hi,

Can you try to disable "Web Hijack Guard"? https://support.avast.com/article/one-faq/#idt_4600

Thanks for the tip, I just did that and it caused no problems. I went back and checked each shield one by one to isolate the issue and the DNS problem seems to have resolved itself somehow.
Strange since 2 hours ago Avast One's shields were definatly causing the issue as I enabled/disabled them all to check. Maybe my ISP (Orange fr) fixed or whitelisted something since then.

Sorry for all the hullabaloo then.
