malware detection
« on: December 30, 2007, 02:06:26 AM »
Hello,
After an initial first run of Avast a file: postinfo.html    was detected and moved to the chest.
This file is in the c:\Inetpub\wwwroot location. A check with Virustotal shows only 2/32 hits of which Avast and Ikarus are the only two(2) AV programs out of 32 top quality AV programs that detect this file as malware. Is this a FP that should be restored? The file is part of web publishing. :-\

What was the exact error message ?
Without knowing the contents of the html file, it's impossible to judge if it contains anything harmful.

Hi Bob,
The only info I have is what is in the chest. The category is, infected file; the virus description is, HTML: Malware-gen . That's all.  ???

I have noticed some bug in the web publisher so this may be correct.
