VPN has to be off to use web browsers and recieve email.
« on: June 12, 2023, 03:35:27 AM »
I have to turn off VPN in order to receive email and use Avast, Google Chrome and Firefox web browsers.  What can I do to correct this,  and what caused this?

Thanks, Skip

Try going into Menu > Settings > VPN Protocols.  Select OpenVPN as your protocol and see if it fixes your problem.

Thank you Peter, you suggestion worked.  Never had this problem in the past.  Was it a recent change to the program?

I'm thinking the issue is with the WireGuard or Mimic protocols, whatever the Automatic setting is choosing.  Something must be incompatible with our internet connections.  I had the same problem as you.  This should be something for Avast to fix, I think.

Sometimes when programs do a software update, it may reset any custom settings you made earlier back to default.  So I would go into the settings menu like before and make sure your protocol selection is still OpenVPN.
