Avast will not un-install

Avast pops up with so much BS everyday that I have decided they are worse than the hackers and virus writers. I want it OFF of my computer like yesterday. Why is it so hard to get it off of my computer? Do I need to contact my Senator or my Rep.? I will in a heartbeat.
