Avast premium blocking video websites
« on: October 24, 2023, 02:42:29 AM »
Avast Premium is interfering with video playback on all video websites.   I've added exceptions  but that does not help.  Only complete deactivation of all shields fixes the problem.  That's a pretty clunky way to watch Youtube, so can you please help?

Disabling all shield is a bit of a sledgehammer to crack a nut and you are unlikely to find the cause.

I only have Avast Free and I can connect to youtube without disabling any shields.

But youtube is becoming a bit of a pain in regard to adblockers and perhaps the same with VPNs.

All video playback is messed up.   Both streamed and with video already on computer.  I have to disable all shields to play any video at all.

Hi vetbird,

How much RAM do you have? And which OS do you run? Try disabling the shields one at a time and see if you can isolate the one causing the problem.
