I can confirm the translation issue and this may also be the reason for the date issue .... The date formats used in English are not the same as for other languages (French, Portuguese....)?

The format is different from Portuguese BR.
But we can't explain why 1970.

Perhaps precisely because the inverted day/month format (e.g. 30 January, 20/01, 01/20) is not recognised as a correct date, so it displays Unix time....1970

There are some people who don't make this mistake, undoubtedly those who have their system with the English format.

I'll use my example here.
I'm Brazilian and the date here at the moment is. Feb 8, 2024
on avast it is showing like this January 20, 1970

That's why I think it's not the format, because the number "1970", even for all languages, doesn't match.

This has been identified and a UI update pending.

the wrong date format will be fixed in next UI release.

Updated to 24.1 this morning after I got hit with the notification date bug on 23.12, so thought "might as well." I am on UI version 1.0.796 which I was also on before updating, so it's probably related to that UI version which changes independently of the program version I have noticed.

I can also, possibly, confirm the language/translation issue. While I only use English, I noticed that "Date" in Release Date for the Program version is capitalized, while it isn't for the virus definitions.

Everything else seems to be ok otherwise, though I don't notice a difference in the Smart scan options from the previous version.

Guys, I believe it's another bug.
My native language is Brazilian Portuguese. In the attached image, you can see that English is mixed with Brazilian Portuguese.

I checked and Avast fixed the "1970" bug. The only thing left to fix was this bug that I reported on this topic. translation of English and Portuguese together, this point remains to be corrected, which continues

The new UI version, 1.0.797, appears to fix the issue. If you're still on 1.0.796, try restarting your computer (which you probably will anyway if you're on Windows 10 or 11 as it's Patch Tuesday). That's what pushed it to me.

I have the UI version but updated according to the image attachment I placed, and I still have a translation problem.

Today it updated to the new version.
I use Avast Free in Italian, with this new update the language indicating the version has remained in English.

I was have version 23.x In programm update settings I set not update automatically. A few days ago i have next problem, after closing the programs, their process still works in task manager. For example i lanch media player classic and klose it 10 times, in task meneger still works x10 proceses of media player, the same situation with other programms. First my mind - its some virus, i go to Avast make a system check, and surprisingly see thet my Avast have updated to v.24.1 without my permission. Now i think its bug with stuck proceses becouse Avast have updated. Maybe it need setoff some options in new version to fix this bug?
