Goodbye Avast browser!

Without warning or explanation, the avast browser no longer works the same.  I don't have time to relearn how to use a program that used to work fine.

I have a number of Google websites that are not adware or threats of any kind.  Avast used to display downloads on a bar at the bottom.  Now there is nothing, if it even downloads at all.  And it is refusing to 'save picture as' of off my own website.  I'm done!  At least Edge works.

It would be helpful if you explained the problem as "the avast browser no longer works the same" doesn't explain your problem.

Personally I have never installed the 'Avast Secure Browser' (ASB) as I don't particularly like Chrome and ASB is a Chromium based browser.  So updates to Chrome/Chromium code could also impact on the ASB.

My browser of choice is Firefox.

Any browser needs cleansing and maintannance at a certain point.
Empty the cache etc. Checking on extensions etc. Update or refresh and ultimately if infested reinstall.

This goes for a chromium based browser like Avast Secure Browser as well as for Brave (also chromium based)
as it goes for Firefox and Firefox based browsers like for instance Mullvad and also the Tor Browser.

Firefox Focus is a browser for Android that automatically will cleanse itself
every time after it has been used and closed.

Works fine alongside Blokada5 on Android for me
(Blokada my ad-blocker app of choice, downloaded from Aptoide)

Avast Secure Browser for Android has a counterpart in SPIN browser, a web filter browser.

But with browsers it is as with puding, the proof of it is in the eating
