Delete the download file after installation
« on: April 16, 2024, 10:45:00 AM »
Hi everybody,

I just bought avast and installed some apps my entire download was deleted. I don't know if it's because of avast or because I installed it incorrectly in some step? Has anyone had this condition?

Thank!

Using Windows?

A setting for windows cleanup here:  (see below)  if setting is not default, Storage Sense will automatically clear your download folder.

Avast doesn't delete autonomously as such, it alerts to issues, e.g. malware found/suspect file.

Even if there was an Avast Alert, that installation file/program should still be there until you decide on a course of action, send to quarantine, delete, etc.
In which case it wouldn't let you install anything (which presumably it has allowed).
