avast secure browser keeps changing default browser settings without permission

Hi,
Avast secure browser keeps changing default browser settings without permission.
Firefox is set as my default browser, but frequently ASB keeps changing it.
This has only been happening since the last update.
I repeatedly keep having to manually change the default back to firefox.
Please advise,

PS; I have clean uninstalled and reinstalled ASB more than once; same result.

I uninstalled Avast Secure Browser just because this reason and I'm not willing to reinstall it until this issue resolved.

In the meantime, you might be able to alleviate the issue by disabling the browser's `Protect` feature. Please follow the steps below to disable this feature using a browser flag:

Open the browser:

• Type `secure://flags` into the address bar and press Enter
• In the search bar at the top of the page, type Browser Protect
• Locate the flag and select Disabled from the dropdown menu
• Restart your browser for the changes to take effect

Thanks for your advice.
It has stopped making itself the default browser for the last week or so.
I''l keep your solution in mind if it starts doing it again.
One question, will disabling the browser protect make the browser less secure/
