Getting inside the kernel

Does Avast get inside the kernel?  I have heard that Crowdstrike Falcon does. I cannot remember being aware of Avast causing similar difficilties to Crowdstrike.

Every antivirus/antimalware product (well, unless it's on-demand scans only) has kernel modules, i.e. drivers. You cannot really do an on-access protection (such as File Shield or Web Shield) without it.

Thanks Igor. Having used Avast for nearly 20 years, I won't worry about a possible Crowdstrike problem. Avast software has been incredibly reliable as well as effective security.
