Avast blocking Port 9515
« on: August 16, 2024, 08:26:47 PM »
I installed Avast Premium Security last night so am completely new to how it operates.

I have a program written by myself using AutoIt3 that downloads closing share prices every evening from a website. I've been using it for years with no problems until tonight when it tells me it can't open Port 9515. Windows security tell me the firewall is being managed by Avast.

Is there a reasonably simple way for me to allow my program to operate - other than junking Avast :-[

You can unlock the port/protocol in Avast Firewall. Open the main window, than click Menu >> Settings >> Protection >> Firewall >> View Firewall and add new rule to one of below tab:
- Network rules - there You can add certain port and protocol to unblock/block by the firewall
- Application rules - there You can add software and its port(s)
