Feedback after reporting false positive
« on: September 11, 2024, 03:40:58 AM »
If I report a false positive (send the file for analysis to Avast through the GUI of the antivirus), is there a feedback, when the analysis is done? Will I know, what the decision was? Virus or indeed false positive?

Direct email response ceased a couple of months ago - the only thing on the Report form now is that it will be investigated within 48 hours and if found to be False it will be removed. Personally I don't like this, as it is likely to generate more FP reports, which may or may not reduce that feedback workload.

My interpretation of that is - Essentially if after that time frame it is still detected after the Web Shield or File System Shield or scan if it is still detected the detection is considered good

So, there is absolutely no feedback. Thank you. Good to know.
(What you described is guessing, and not feedback.)
