BV:Iq [trj] - Dunno how to
« on: February 07, 2008, 06:22:19 PM »
I have click one web page contained this BV:Iq [trj]. Avast has detected and i have took action for ABORT CONNECTION. Im wondering if this trojan already infected my Notebook. This is so sad and scary. If there's anyone can help me? Does Avast also infected by this trojan and hows this trojan works. On Avast Warning Log said that Avast found this trojan in that web page. Does anyone ever got infected with this trojan or have same experience with me?

Thanks.

 :)  Hi :

     "Trojan(s)" are best dealt with by antiSPYWARE/antiTROJAN program(s);
      do you have any of these types of programs on your computer ? IF no,
      I, and others, recommend you get the FREE version of
     "SUPERAntiSpyware" from www.superantispyware.com . After installing
     and "updating" it, would be wise to run its "Complete Scan" to check
     your computer .

The web shield intercepts HTTP traffic and scans it before it is saved to your system, if malware is found you get the alert you got. By aborting the connection the file download isn't saved to your system, it isn't on your hard disk.

The log shows the web page where the infection was found, if this got on to your system it would also show where it was on your hard disk. So you have nothing to worry about the web shield stopped it getting on to your system.

It is however worthwhile having a specialist anti-spyware as Spiritsongs mentions to back-up avast, run it periodically. I run a weekly scan with SAS, but before I do that I ensure I have the latest signature update.

Thanks DavidR.That is very informative  :) I have run AVAST to scan all my local drives and there is no virus. I got paranoid about this since my last notebook was infected and attacked. I have installed Spyware Doctor as my additional protection for my notebook. Thanks a lot!  :)
