sigh..they are prolly just busy.  From the report here are the possible nasties but wait till an avast admin tells u to fix them:

Definate nasties (still wait for conformation):
C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\bar\2.bin\M3SRCHMN.EXE

    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {00A6FAF6-072E-44cf-8957-5838F569A31D} - C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\SrchAstt\2.bin\MWSSRCAS.DLL

    O3 - Toolbar: My Web Search - {07B18EA9-A523-4961-B6BB-170DE4475CCA} - C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\bar\2.bin\MWSBAR.DLL

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [My Web Search Bar Search Scope Monitor] "C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\2.bin\m3SrchMn.exe" /m=0

    O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebsearch.com/toolbaredits/menusearch.jhtml?p=ZJxdm078MXCA

    O23 - Service: My Web Search Service (MyWebSearchService) - MyWebSearch.com - C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\2.bin\mwssvc.exe

And this one may be bad but i'm not sure:

O16 - DPF: {1D4DB7D2-6EC9-47A3-BD87-1E41684E07BB} - http://ak.exe.imgfarm.com/images/nocache/funwebproducts/ei-3/ZwinkyInitialSetup1 .0.1.0.cab

Please wait for an advast admin to tell you if what i posted is correct.  In the mean time, please download and install SUPERantipsyware free version and run a complete scan.  Quarantine any infections found (and there should be some) and run HJT again and post another log on the forum (this time when you post ur log, click on additional options while posting and just upload ur log instead of posting the whole log and taking up forum space).  You can do the things I mentioned in this last paragraph before an avast admin checks ur report because they will advise that you do this anyway.  Hope this helps :D

Also, it looks like u might have norton antivirus and avast both running together, is this so?  If it is then that is a big no-no.  You will have to use the uninstaller from norton's site in order to fully get rid of it, but please explain if u are running them together.

Hi there I have vista so I feel quite confident in being able to help you

Firstly let me see what is what

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt  -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.

please tell me you uninstalled norton by using the uninstaller utility from the norton's support site.  If you didn't (for example, if u just uninstalled it using the uninstall in the norton program folder on ur computer) it will leave a lot behind.  You have to download the uninstaller from the actual support site from norton (its a pain in the butt).   I am not familiar with dss logs, so u will have to wait for help with that.  You should also run a registry cleaner such as the one in ccleaner or iobit's advanced windowscare, or the one u usually use if u use one.

You can download the norton uninstaller from here if you didnt:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

BTW- what was the result of the SAS scan?

the results of the sas was good :P it detected a whole bunch of adware that i have been trying to get rid of with no results.... I quarantiened it all and havent been having those pops up which makes me happy.... this is all such a pain...I didnt have any problems with any of this till my g/f clicked that msn link and then i got the msn virus and all the other junk so i appreciate the help and ill use that link to uninstal it from the site thx........ by registry cleaner do you mean something like windows washer? It gets rid of all my cookies and everything and rewrites  over it all to make it harder to recover.... I ran that yesterday

Hi not quite fixed I'm afraid as the malware has inserted itself into the authorisation key.  All of these programmes will need to be right clicked and run as administrator

Download & Run HijackThis.exe

  • Download HJTInstall.exe to your Desktop.
  • Doubleclick HJTInstall.exe to install it.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
  • Click on Install.
  • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
  • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
THEN

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan.  Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {769994EF-42DA-4D0C-B997-0385BDB1FAC2} - C:\Windows\system32\qoppn.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {92DA25E1-0706-4028-8D31-B69C49D153A3} - C:\Windows\system32\qoppn.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {A00CA75C-DEDD-4474-9088-5D6363D69338} - C:\Windows\system32\yayvs.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [My Web Search Bar Search Scope Monitor] "C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\2.bin\m3SrchMn.exe" /m=0
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MSServer] rundll32.exe C:\Windows\system32\yayvs.dll,#1
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MyWebSearch Email Plugin] C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\2.bin\mwsoemon.exe
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebsearch.com/toolbaredits/menusearch.jhtml?p=ZJxdm078MXCA
O16 - DPF: {1D4DB7D2-6EC9-47A3-BD87-1E41684E07BB} - http://ak.exe.imgfarm.com/images/nocache/funwebproducts/ei-3/ZwinkyInitialSetup1.0.1.0.cab
O23 - Service: Symantec Lic NetConnect service (CLTNetCnService) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exe (file missing)
O23 - Service: My Web Search Service (MyWebSearchService) - MyWebSearch.com - C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\2.bin\mwssvc.exe

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked.  Close HiJackThis.

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Please go to Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features and remove the following (if present):

FunWebProducts
MyWebSearch

Please note any other programs that you dont recognize in that list in your next response
.
NEXT
.
Download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.

  • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall
.
ON completion of the first run
.
1. Please open Notepad
  • Click Start , then Run
  • Type notepad .exe in the Run Box.
2. Now copy/paste the entire content of the codebox below into the Notepad window:

Code: [Select]
File::
C:\Windows\system32\nppoq.ini2
C:\Windows\system32\f3PSSavr.scr
C:\Windows\system32\qoppn.dll
C:\Windows\system32\yayvs.dll

Folder::
C:\Program Files\FunWebProducts
C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared

Registry::
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellExecuteHooks\{A00CA75C-DEDD-4474-9088-5D6363D69338}]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\control\lsa]
"Authentication Packages"=hex(7):6d,73,76,31,5f,30,00,00

3. Then in the text file go to FILE > SAVE AS and in the dropdown box select SAVE AS TYPE to ALL FILES

4. Save the above as CFScript.txt

5. Then drag the CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe as depicted in the animation below.  This will start ComboFix again.

5. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), please post the following reports/logs into your next reply:
  • Combofix.txt
  • A new HijackThis log.
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

nope, windows washer doesnt have a registry cleaner ability (wow that is strange since they charge for it..stupid company).  I would download either of the two programs i listed and run a registry scan to clean up ur registry.  Infact, the best program to do this might be the free trial version of tuneup utilities 2008, but it is only a free trial (however u can still scan and clean ur registry with it and perform many other cleanup actions for free for a limited time).  I think tuneup utilities does the best job for a free option, but after the free trial i suggest u continue scanning and fixing ur registry with ccleaner or andvanced windowscare by iobit.

One to remove now

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan.  Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O23 - Service: My Web Search Service (MyWebSearchService) - Unknown owner - C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\2.bin\mwssvc.exe (file missing)

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked.  Close HiJackThis.

Apart from that you look clean - how is it running now ?
