avast 4.8 is a beta version only at present. 

You should be aware of possible problems with beta software and willing to accept them.  If you participate in the beta program please look for information on problems being reported and investigated in the beta forum at the top of the forum page.

If you are using a dial-up connection then there does appear to be a problem with auto-update that is being investigated by the avast team.

The antivirus is not autoupdating anymore. the previous 4.7 was very well but since i downloaded 4.8 this is not happening anymore even after 3 days. Any suggestions

I think enough  avast is best.especially with v4.8 better than older versions.Thnx Avast team.

Third best antivirus and considering AVK uses avast engine, it will be the among the two best ones. Indeed, big companies should be afraid

that is very good news because when i tried to find the forum on google it didn't find anything and i read on another forum that the avast foeum has been hacked and dissapeared.anyway no big deal since it is just fine right now and working perffectly. please don't take as an offense
