4.8 will not work with my Online Armour

Update 4.8 does not work with Online Armour on my system. The only way I can get Avast to start is to disable hips in Online Armour.

Try disabling the Online Armor webshield instead. HIPS is important.

If it does not work, activate logging in WebShield:
1. Edit <avast>\data\avast4.ini file
2. Find the section [WebScanner]
3. Add the line:
    EnableLogging=1
4. Restart Web Shield in XP (terminate and start again) or whole PC in case of Win98
5. Browse (trying to access some webpages)

The log file are <avast>\data\log\ashwebsv.log and ashwebsv.ws.
They would be accessible when WebShield is terminated again.
Post them here or send by mail to rypacek (at) asw.cz
After that, disable the logging to avoid a big log file.

Strange.
In my instance both systems work seamlessly.
I have
avast 4.8.1169
oa 2.1.0.119
wxp sp2

They work even with both web shields on (which is, however, not my standard configuration, I ran with avast web shield up only).

Sorry I was out of town for awhile. I just re-verified my prob again. But since JanP is not having a problem, maybe my disabling hips in Online Armour is masking another symptom. I better try a clean install - maybe OA interfered with the update and corrupted it or something. I don't remember is there a way I can save my registration number for the new install? (I don't have the web shield in OA as I have free edition).
Tech, I don't fully understand your directions

As an update I have re-enabled the hips in Online Armour, and terminated the web shield in Avast and the computer started up fine.
Tech are you lurking  out there(I didn't fully understand your directions)
 or someone from Alwil? How should I proceed to isolate this problem?

I gave up, went back to version 4.7.  I have been using Avast for years, and visit forum daily. I  appreciate the program and will update later when the flack clears.
