I'm using 4.8 on Windows XP SP2- I have no VRDB icon, how do I activate it on free version?
I have done a virus scan and have 6 of 7 resident scanners running.

You can unmerge the icon from the VRDB menu of the 'a' blue icon.

Check your avast4.ini file settings. Click 'Settings' in my signature and browse for the VRDB section. http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=1647.msg10271#msg10271
