No icon in sytray
« on: May 20, 2003, 11:49:48 AM »
Hi,
Afer reboot i have no avast icon in the systray.
Starting it manually (ashDisp.exe) works.
But at the next reboot no icon.
In the registry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run it is present.
System is Windows XP Home SP1
It worked more then 2 months
Any clues ?

Oops, I hate this one. It's been reported already by someone else on this forum (quite a long time ago) but it disappeared on its own :(

Anyway, what you can do is start the Task Manager and check if ashDisp.exe is in the list of processes...

Thanks,

Hi,
I solved the problem (probably occured after deinstalling teh Startup delayer software).
In the registry the avast! key is now:
"D:\ALWILS~1\Avast4\ashDisp.exe"

With the problem is was:
"D:\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashDisp.exe"

Sometimes windows deos not like long names and prefers the old 8+3  ;)
System is XP home + SP1

BTW, great free software! Keep on. :D
