E mail scanning with spam software
« on: March 30, 2004, 01:41:41 AM »
My e-mail client runs through the k9 spam filter (http://www.keir.net/k9.html) so in my email client my settings are like this:

smtp: smtp.server.net
pop3: 127.0.0.1
pop username: smtp.server.net/110/user.name

My question is how would I set up virus scanning so that I don't lose my spam filtering

Thanks for the help - for others using k9 here is the solution:

smtp: smtp.server.net
pop3: 127.0.0.1
pop username: 127.0.0.1/110/user.name#smtp.server.net

pete, could you tell us if with this configuration what will you do first: scanning or filtering. In other words, what is proccessed before: K9 filtering or avast scanning...

If you filter before, avast will run quickly and won't have to scan so much garbage...
