Bouncing Back Messages On MSN

My husband gets your program, then ALL NIGHT LONG during TALKING TO HIM ON MSN it is BOUNCING MY MESSAGES BACK AT ME. Never happened before, until he gets AVAST. I am going INSANE. It's so annoying that I can't even talk to him or send him messages. WHY is this program causing this.....im not sending him files just messages on MSN! Avast is so protective it blocks people from having conversations with you? I'm angry and annoyed!

can it be that he or you also installed a firewall?
are any other antivirus/firewalls/antispyware installed or have been installed?

EDIT:
does it help if he disables avast? (rightclick avast-icon in the tray --> last entry (stop protection or something like that)

Nope he installed avast today, and that's when all the problems seemed to of started. We never had any issues talking before, and it seems funny, he installs it and now all night long it wont let me send him messages
