I have exactly the same problem since yesterday.
Its like after the last update when i open the game i get an error about that file, and even if i slect the option to take no actions against this file, it still does something cause the file gets corrupted, even if i re-install the game.

the file is ok its just that avast registers it as a trojan and yes when you select the option no actions against the file, the file then gets corrupted and you have to update the game again to replace the corrupted file
only solution for now is to turn off avast so that it doesnt detect the file when you start up lineage 2 and you can then play normaly

Same problem to me too, i cant load l2.exe because of that vorbisfile.dll . The only solution is the one Nade posted - turn off Avast before starting the game and after that enable it while playing. Same VPS with Nade - 080626-0. Fix it please.

I found just one safe solution :) : just turn off internet, after that, stop standart shield in avast, launch l2, start avast and turn on internet.

You could also check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner and report the findings here. You can't do this with the file securely in the chest, you need to extract it to a temporary (not original) location first, see below.

Create a folder called Suspect in the C:\ drive, e.g. C:\Suspect. Now exclude that folder in the Standard Shield, Customize, Advanced, Add, type (or copy and paste) C:\Suspect\* That will stop the standard shield scanning any file you put in that folder. You should now be able to export any file in the chest to this folder and upload it to VirusTotal without avast alerting.

If it is indeed a false positive, add it to the exclusions lists:
Standard Shield, Customize, Advanced, Add and
Program Settings, Exclusions (right click the avast ' a ' icon)
Restore it to its original location, periodically check it (scan it in the chest), there should still be a copy in the chest even though you restored it to the original location. When it is no longer detected then you can also remove it from the Standard Shield and Program Settings, exclusions.

Send the sample to virus@avast.com zipped and password protected with the password in email body, a link to this topic might help and false positive in the subject.

Or you can also add the file to the User Files (File, Add) section of the avast chest (if it isn't already there) where it can do no harm and send it from there (select the file, right click, email to Alwil Software). No need to zip and PW protect when the sample is sent from chest. A copy of the file/s will remain in the original location, so any further action you take can remove that.

im pretty sure that its a false positive since everyone that is using avast its detecting it as a trojan

This is what VirusTotal shows after scaning : http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/c3472ad2bb8e27bfa37e0695f3891edf . I am aslo pretty sure that it is a false positive. DavidR should i email the file to virus@avast.com ?

Yes, that is the only way to have it analysed and the signature corrected.

Don't forget give a link to this topic in the email so they will more information and possibly the virustotal analysis link.
