Thank you.
I have installed the update on 5 computers and have noticed no problems.

You know ... I THINK I'm just going to wait until my turn on the 7-day queue.  I'm vaguely recalling that the one and only time that I did a Manual PROGRAM Update, it didn't go without a hitch.  It went well until the very end when I was prompted to acknowledge a Restart.  Then as the Restart was about to start, suddenly the process decides it wants to download some more stuff.  Then I got a Lockup.  Not a complete 100% Disaster Lockup though, fortunately.  I was able to by a series of ohhh 4 or 5 Ctrl Alt Del's and clicking on Wait ... give the process some extra 20 Second opportunities to finish what it was doing.  It did eventually finish.  And the New avast! Program Update seemingly worked.  But, I just kept having an uneasy feeling in my stomach at how the end of that Update went down.  I believe I ended up doing a Windows Reinstall and when I got to the avast! part, I waited for the Green Box Prompt to Click On it.  Worked much better that way.  I didn't encounter any weird ending to the Update.

Besides, by waiting possibly a couple more days for my turn, that'll be a couple extra days for people out in the public to give it a test run and if suddenly some HUGE Glitch is exposed, especially with Win98 ... I can read about it here on the avast! Forums and thereby hold off on Greenlighting the Download.

I got the 1227 update notice, but was kinda busy installing a scanner, so i didn't grab it.  after the installation was
finished, I right clicked on the blue "a" ball, went to program settings>update basic>program>manual and clicked update now.
It is a large file, but after installing itself and restarting the computer, it seems to be working fine.  If you don't hear
anything from me in the near future, assume that my upgrade went well.

Okay, so I changed my mind ... about 1 or 2 minutes after my previous post.   ;D  I decided, "What the heck?  I'd better throw the dice and download the Program Update Manually ... on MY own terms instead of getting caught off guard at the most inopportune moment with the little Green Box."  So, I did as Rocky Balboa used to say, "Go For It!"
Right Clicked ... Oops!  I mean, I Optically  ;D  Right Clicked the Blue Ball ... Updating ... Program Update.  Bada Bing Bada Bang!  8 minutes later --- DUN!  Flawless Update.  The Restart went fine.  And Opera is working fine right now.
