« on: September 13, 2008, 03:58:41 PM »
Hi there, I went through this forum but I didn't find any guide regarding how to fully uninstall avast for Linux. I have tried the application on Ubuntu 8.04 and now I have decided to uninstall bur I still have some of it. For example, in Application --> Accessories and some other folders that I am not able to delete.
Anyon can advise?

TIA!

There are two way of installation on ubuntu: deb packages, or the tarball archive. For tarball archive way, uninstall using the mkinstall.sh script, with the -u switch. For deb package way, use standard package removal procedure in your package manager.

Note: avast4 server depends on libavastengine, thus, you must remove the libavastengine first, then the avast4server.
