VPS Distribution change
« on: April 13, 2004, 04:48:39 PM »
Hi All,

starting today, we have changed our VPS distribution scheme. We have switched from monthly milestone databases (and during the following monthly incremental updates) to weekly milestone databases. It means that the VPS number is changed as well - from YYMM-00 to YYWW-00. The latest VPS is called 0416-00 (it means 16th week of 2004, version 0). The following updates during this week will be named 0416-01, 02 etc, followed by 0417-00 next week.

We hope this will decrease the amount of downloaded data.

Pavel

That's the current one, Awake, at least as of a couple of minutes ago.

I understand what you're questioning, since the 18th was Sunday which most of us think of as the start of a new week.  But quite possibly the avast! team thinks of weeks in terms of "normal" work-days, starting Mondays, and as yet there's been no new ones since Sunday so that would have been still last week from that point of view.

Yes, MikeBCda was right  ;D

The week starts on Mondays here in Europe and todays update was the first one in this week (i.e. numbered as 0417-0).
