Scan disk log???
« on: October 04, 2008, 06:50:13 PM »
I have recently got my pc back from the repair shop and it appears they have been testing the fan (it was faulty), but in doing so must have abruptly turned the pc on and off a few times other the course of an hour (without properly shutting down).  Scandisk (chkdsk) ran on me booting up but the results went off too quickly, how (if possible) can I view these boot up chkdsk results?

ps my logs state that I may have corruption in the NTFS system, is there a way of checking if any data has been permanently damaged?

any help is greatly appreciated

Are you using XP/Vista? In the Windows Events the results of the chkdsk will be recorded (I think on System folder, but could be Applications... sorry I'm on Kubuntu now ;D).

it states it cleaned up minor inconsistences and displayed this below, is it serious?

0Kb in bad sectors

Cleaning up 424 unused index entries
Cleaning up 424 unused index entries
Cleaning up 424 unused security descriptors.
CHKDSK is verifying Usn Journal...
Usn Journal verification completed.
CHKDSK discovered free space marked as allocated in the

Windows has made corrections to the file system.

No, it's not serious. General maintenance of the NTFS file system.
