I'm not entirely sure what it is you are asking, this is my best quess.

There are times when that page isn't fully up to date, the priority I guess is to get the update out and catch up on the page update after.

Just check the www.avast.com home page that displays the current Program and VPS versions, though this page also shows 081102-0 as the latest when it is 081103-0.

Yeah, this have been discussed before. At least we got our programs updated ;) And that is more important then the website, but I agree that an updated webpage would be nice.

I never visit this page (only on the rare occasion someone mentions this), I honestly can't see the point. The listing just shows a list of signatures added, they are just names and of little practical use.

So long as the auto update is working, there shouldn't be any real need to go to this page (or the avast home page) to check what the latest VPS versions is.

If you do a manual iAVS update check it will tell you what the current version is and if you have the latest version or it will download it. So for me there really is little reason to visit this page.

Can it be done automatically? I mean, write an script that change the webpage when a new VPS update is released?
