« on: April 20, 2004, 11:48:18 PM »
Hi....

I recently ran Avast Home V4.1 up to date scanners and it did not detect viruses whereas I ran the Symantec Online Security Check and it told me I have these viruses:-

C:\WINDOWS\system32\svcinfo.exe is infected with Trojan Horse
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe is infected with Trojan Horse
C:\Documents and Settings\Rick Press\My Documents\My Received Files\i like it doggy style.scr is infected with MSN.Flooder

Trend Micro Scanner - online one didnt pick up any viruses either like Avast cany anyone tell me what this means?

Rick

I dont have a copy of the Virus Scan anymore.... but basically there was a file I think it was Svcdll.exe or something and there was another....

They were in the virus chest on the system under system files but I did think they were viruses but Avast had picked them up... the only virus alerts I ever have are Windows Trojan.gen alerts...

I ran a trial version of Norton but it couldnt delete them, neither could Avast Home V4.1 but I used www.bitdefender.com online scanner and it managed to successfully remove them.... which I find odd....

Typed the name of the file found on google and found this but for some reason Avast cant remove it .... or could Norton... I tried downloading a 15 day trial of Norton and it could not remove it either....

Does anyone know what I should do?

Hi,
boot the PC in SafeMode (F8-Boot) and delete the file manually; then remove the registry-key mentioned on F-Secure (BAckup registry first!)

How do I access the registry where is it and how do I remove it as I have never done this before?

Also how come Avast was not able to remove this file? Norton could not remove it either? Panda Software and McAfee the lastest builds I downloaded the trial versions to try out did not even pick up this virus on scan..... :-S

because no virus scanner picks up everything..

Registry: see the help of Win & regedit, or google
for a start: ClickMe

or just delete the file, and don't edit the registry, or use automated registryCleaners -> Google, or search this board
