VPS: 0418-1
« on: April 27, 2004, 03:42:06 PM »
I've downloaded this update today, but on opening Avast to scan, 0418-0 is *still* showing.   I've tried rebooting but it still shows 0418-0.

In that case, can anyone from Alwil Support please advise.  Do I need to do a re-install perhaps?

What happens when you invoke the update once more?

Tried that a few times, update window advises 0418-1 is downloaded but on opening avast to scan it still shows 0418-0.   This is the first time ever I've had this issue.

In case it's relevant I have installed the latest beta version of Spybot (1.3 rc4) in the last few days. Could that possibly be the culprit?

No I haven't. If you think I should try that, can you please talk me through how I do a manual update. Thanks.

i dont thik spybot has anything to do with it but only an avast programmer can tell for sure.
have you tried rebooting the computer

If you select "Virus Database" from the main menu - can you find e.g. Beagle-Y in there?
(Just to find out if the database is not updated, or if only the version display is wrong).

Yes, here's exactly what's in there...
Win32:Beagle-Y [Wrm]
Win32:Beagle-Y- Unp [Wrm]

Hmm, there should be 4 items, in the latest VPS.
Can you try the "manual" update, as shgoh suggested?
