Where are all the menus and setting?

Don't laff, I know nothing about computers but I do know I habe a worm or worse.  The help index refers to setting I can make, buttons, etc.  WHERE ARE THEY?

In two or three places:

1. Left click the 'a' blue icon and you will open the providers window. There you can click on 'Customize' button and see the settings.

2. Right click the 'a' blue icon and start avast antivirus... Right click the skin (window) and choose 'Settings'.
