VPS update to old version
« on: January 20, 2009, 08:12:35 AM »
Hi,

On clients computers I've Avast Dec2007 (4.7.820) version and I can't update VPS to the newest version.

When I'm trying to do this by ADNM (with newest VPS) I get this in client log:

2009-01-18 14:39:46   SYSTEM   1160   The virus database (VPS 080926-0) was automatically updated.
2009-01-18 13:57:42   SYSTEM   1160   The virus database (VPS 090117-0) was automatically updated.
2009-01-18 13:15:33   SYSTEM   1160   The virus database (VPS 080926-0) was automatically updated.
2009-01-18 11:59:41   SYSTEM   1160   The virus database (VPS 090117-0) was automatically updated.

So, VPS is updating, and after that is going back, to old version.

Why?

What clients do you have? Vista or XP? What about ADNM version? More info needed for better answer...

And what about upgrade client to current version (1005)? I recommend to try it on one or two clients. I have sometimes problems withs VPS upgrade on 4.7.820  clients but now I have this version only on servers (W2000,2003). When it occurred, I restart its service "avast! iAVS4 Control Service" (using batch file) and it help.

After upgrading clients computers (XP Pro SP3) it happens very rarely. May be upgrade help you.

Your license file hasn't expired, right?

Yes, licence is fine. Clients computers are working on Windows XP Professional SP2/SP3.

More over I can't upgrade avast program version on client computers via console. In console - it is written that update was successfull, but it is not.

Ok, topic is closed.

The thing was, that the ADNM mirror, was not updated. There were some problems with proxy.

Thx, for help.
