Just stop avast! and start it again (via icon next to Windows clock). That should fix the problem.

Sometimes, Windows Security Center stop recognizing your antivirus or firewall... So, check your system time and date and also http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=23457.msg193534#msg193534

So (from your last reply) you stopped the appropriate services before deleting the repository, then promptly rebooted? Those services set to automatic?
Any other AV been used on this computer?
Windows 10,Windows Firewall,Firefox w/Adblock.

None on this pc, always used avast. I finally got it straight, I had to use system restore to go back to a earlier time when it did show, so thanks for all the help, you guys are the best and always respond timely.

Stopping avast! works for me. This problem with Security Center started after Microsoft changed the way how Security Center detects security applications some time ago. At least from what vlk said, it's designed really awful and we couldn't find the actual cause why this happens.
Anyway, good to see you solved the problem. ;D

It won't hurt if you try to repair your installation:
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove. Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair).
