What is the date on your PC clock?

Not so weird, someone may have been checking a date in the calendar and didn't reste it back to the correct date, very common.

Or, maybe the CMOS battery is starting to die, and the PC lost it's time?

I though when the time died it started at the default somewhere round 1969 and if on its way out I would have thought it would lose time rather than gain it. Don't you just love mysteries ;D

No, it can reset to whatever.  If the battery is getting really low, it could make the computer adjust it's time to anything really...

Are you sure?
I never saw a reset for a future time...

I have.  A few weeks ago I had a laptop reset itself to a year ahead in the BIOS.  It's strange, but it happened...

I have mentioned in this forum before my WinMe vintage 1997 laptop.  Its real battery (the big plugin thing - and the spare) died many years ago.  Now the CMOS battery must be dead too.  Now when I boot it up it is not 1969 (or 1970 more like) but the last time it was 12 days behind the real date.

Now, do not laugh, I have a battery driven wall clock in my kitchen which - when the battery is dying - gains time rather than loses it.
So I am willing to believe that dates can be set ahead.

Well, who knows really.  The laptop was part of a "laptop cart" that has about 20 laptops in it that used by students.  One of those little buggers probably messed with the BIOS.  I'll have to lock them down soon.  Wouldn't have to if the damn teachers would keep an eye on their kids...  ;)
