What for?
The Virus Cleaner supports (and always supported) only a very limited amount of widespread infections - as listed on the corresponding page.
So, I'm afraid there is no newer build.

No. Oh, there is the antirootkit beta, but it's not a full antivirus scanner.
avast is made to be installed and run as resident.
