Get rid of windows vista and use windows xp more stable than vista and avast works no problem ;D

Whilst I don't use Vista this advice is patently wrong, this problem has nothing to do with the OS.

My comment was directed at bobo1, whom I quoted.

Did you fully uninstall avirs, not just disable it ?
There is also an uninstall tool to ensure everything is gone. Avira AntiVir Uninstall Package & RegistryCleaner (choose appropriate version): http://www.avira.com/en/support/support_downloads.html.

Yes,i've totaly uninstall avira, but the freezes are keep going on...as the registry cleaner from avira,i'm not a pc savy, but it found 96 registry entries, and to be honest...only 3 or 4 of them are from avira, the rest...i don't want to delete them and to make a big mess in the registry...do you think i should trust avira's registry cleaner and delete them all?

Well the avira uninstall tool does seek out other AV registry entries, so is it possible that you had another AV at some point in time. Some people sometimes suggest the avira uninstall tool as it does find other stuff.

JoeBlack40, your problem probably stems from Vitakey, It's been a problem for Avast in the past and I had to uninstall Vitakey to get access to Vista in version 5.  Try uninstalling Vitakey and this may fix your freezing problems..  I know going without a fingerprint reader sucks but ya gotta learn to type in those passwords =)
