progress bar for virus database downloads?
« on: May 05, 2009, 10:33:29 PM »
Was looking for a progress bar as the virus database downloaded, but couldn't locate one.  All I could see was my ZAPro firewall indicating that the downloader was accessing the internet.  Is there any indication of download progress?

That was the only fly in the ointment.  Am so far happy with my new Avast anti-virus.

There is no progress bar when Avast's Virus Database uploads because it only takes about 2+ seconds. (7 seconds for me)

If its blocking it, you need to allow it and keep the changes saved, Avast uses the internet to download the virus database.

Your cursor might look like its doing something for about seven seconds and after it downloads, Avast! gives you a notice that the virus database has been updated.

I'm glad you choosed Avast!

Show update progress work for manual updates.
