Automatic updates
« on: May 19, 2004, 04:10:06 AM »
Hi.  How do I set-up Avast to do the automatic updates when changes are done for the virus definitions or the program?  I thought mine was set-up that way but the new definitions didn't change until I did them manually.  Once it is set to automatically update, how long do you need to be connected to the internet before the update starts happening?

Open Avast!-Menu-Settings-Update (Basic). I think you have to be connected at least 20 seconds.

Thank you.  I had the automatic already checked, but the update hadn't happened for me.  Could it be because the connection type wasn't entered?

That might be the reason.

Jesse, try to see this link: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=1647

You will see a lot of avast settings for updating, both on dial-up and ADSL connection.  ;)
