Threatfire or Drivesentry?

Anybody using Threatfire or Drivesentry alongside Avast?

Looking for pros/cons to determine which product to use.

Been using TF 4.X since it was released alongside avast! on my XP Pro SP3 AMD K8 Athlon XP 2600+ 1GB RAM PC and my wife has both on her VistaHB SP1 Celeron 2GHZ 2GB RAM laptop. I'm sure it slows them down a little bit but so far, no noticeable conflicts and no reason to uninstall.

its a great program, i recommend it fully because of its zero day threat style anti-malware its silent unless malware is found, thats it.
also has very handy anti-rootkit

As far as i know,DriveSentry is now a standalone AV,and does not work anymore along with another AV....ThreatFire,yes,is a good option....

It would be more welcome to tell us why you would NOT like to recommend TF. What are your main concerns here? I have found out that for instance it can overreact to a normal program doing something out of the ordinary, like TDIMON starting a driver, TF killed User32.dll with a series of zero bits, also making I could no longer use both Fx and SRWare's Iron browsers, only could go online using an explorer shell browser.
I after that incident had to perform a restart of the OS to get a functional browser back. Why cannot I allow such an action like I allow something through a firewall for instance. I did not try this out, but it could well be that TF is not so friendly upon opening up certain malware fighting tools like ComboScript for instance or other programs that are considered so-called "risktools",

I always thought Threatfire redundant but some people like wearing both a belt and suspenders on their trousers for safety but look funny.

avast! and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM) can't be beat.

all this HIPS story is getting older for me. Avast and another back up scanner and a good firewall makes up a very good shield for me ONLINE ARMOR at best

I removed TF as I got a few BSODs and noticed boot-up and shutdown were a lot slower.

I didn't notice any problems on the kids' PCs except when uninstalling SAS on my daughter's laptop which is very unusual as it seems to play nice with everything.

Disappointed as I tried previous versions of TF and had problems with FF extensions, also on my son's Dell 8300 ERUNT couldn't snapshot the registry. Current version got rid of those problems but angst about mine and others' problems (see TF forum) was too much.

Now running paid DS with scanner off. Boot-up and shutdown are snappier albeit memory usage is increased: webguard has increased from 20 to 60M, DS uses 40M against TF's 10M.
