email warnings

My Avast, altho the best anti-virus I have had so far, is putting warnings in some of my emails that I would like to receive.  My sister sent me a hangman.exe (game) file and Avast put in a warning about extensions and took out the game.  Is there anyway to get past this.  Thanks for any help.

If I'm not wrong you can configure this behavior (warnings) in the Heuristic tabs of the Internet Mail provider (or Outlook/Express plugin).
