My Friend Has A Problem!!

"Just switched on to check e-mails and a message said
Avast expired, pick a new licence number, what does
that mean?  Meantime I have no virus protection."

The above is an email message from a friend of mine, an absolute beginner on PCs.

He runs Avast 4, like I do, and now has this message.

He should join the forum himself, but I will talk to him later about that.

What does he do now???

I would appreciate advice for him.

pick a new license number -> register again

via the avast Home page -> products -/ avast4 Download page or somewhere there.. ;)

Sometimes, this is a trojan behavior...
Can you see if the 'year' of your date/time system is correct?
After you install avast, do a througout scan and better if you can run Ad-aware or SpyBot to be sure you do not have a trojan in your system (or in the system of your friend  ;D)
