Sorry to bring up an old post, but I got this error again and was wondering if it is still a false positive or I have an actual problem.

File:    c:\windows\system32\svchost.exe

Name of virus:   Win32:Rootkit-gen [Rtk]

Type of virus:       Rootkit

Avast! home edition version 4.8.1335

No need to bring up an old topic there are a couple of recent ones in this the viruses and worms forum and this has been resolved, ensure that you have the latest VPS version.
