is it a virus or what???

i have a problem. when i click on my disk top icons: my computer, my documents, my network places....etc....i get this message, "explorer has caused an error in <unknown>. explorer will now close." i have restarted my computer but still having the same problem. pls help.

mabye a virus but I dont think so. Run Scan Disk to correct any errors on your hard disk.


P.S.  Posting in All CAPS is considered shouting. Please refrain from doing that in the future. We are not death ya know  ;)

ran scan disk, standard and thorough, still having the same problem.

Hi,

what does a full thorough scan with updated avast say ?

What win do you have ? are All Windowsupdates applied ?

try running SFC (system file check)
