Corrupted files ???

hello all im new here and i runned a scan on my system and some of my files are corrupt according to avast...what should i do to recover corrupted files?..is there a program to fix this?

NightWolf,

Please let me know what the file names are that Avast reported corrupted.
Avast normally marks files in other terminalogy....so I am asking for clarificatioin.
Corrupted files usually are not recoverable.  They require "new files" or downloads.
Some are the files may not be necessary depending on what they are.

Ok..now how should i do that..cuz after a scan  you can't select the files in the list (copy and paste)..ain there a (detailed) txt file of events from scans that took place somewhere?

NightWolf, wellcome, working with scanning results is a feature of avast Professional version.

Maybe you can find something in the logs. Open avast antivirus, right click the skin and ask for the Log Viewer. The reports (if generated) could be at the subdirectory data/report under avast installation folder.  ;)

Should I upload the files that Avast thinks are corrupted?

I discovered a bug a little while ago that causes Avast to always think that the some of the files are corrupted!!!

The files that were reported as corrupted weren't corrupted at all during one manual anti-virus scan.

You can simply go to the program settings and turn on the generation of the report files (and configure it to include the files with "errors").
I don't know what exactly you mean by "manual anti-virus scan", but it's certainly possible that this scan had different options than the first one (e.g. the scanning of archives wasn't switched on), so the corrupted files were not discovered/reported.

So, the main question remains: what are the exact filenames of the corrupted files?

Ok..i runned a scan with another trojan scanner and showing the same files avast detected as corrupted or could not find here they are

I can't see any "corrupted" files in your list. These files simply cannot be opened because some other application (or the operating system itself) uses them (they are "locked").

I don't see anything really suspicious on your list (with 2 tiny exceptions maybe, but they won't be important anyway)... do you have any problems with the files?

The others are from the System Restore folder. You will get rid of them if you disable the system restore and after enable it again.
