Sorry don't know enough about WinNT to be much help with NT, but can you get on line to one of the online scanners?
Some viruses have the ability to block/disable some anti-virus programs and some on-line scanners/
If so try RajZors page it has a number of links to on-line scanners.

Which Avast version, etc.
What is hapening?
Where is the sobreco virus located, how do you know if you can't start avast?
The more information you can give the more people can help.
EDIT I Have done a search in these forums for SOBRECO and this is the only hit. I have also done a search in two antivirus encylopedias and can find no reference for SOBRECO, even in the aliases
