'Non-delivery report' spam surges

Non-delivery report (NDR) spam has increased by 2000 percent in August since June this year, says PandaLabs.

I've certainly seen an increased number of them coming to me, although nowhere near 20X before.  Another one that seems currently hot is the one supposedly from the IRS about unreported income, which I'm getting 5 to 10 a day of.  Interesting, since I haven't had any US income (since moving to Canada) in nearly 40 years.

I see very little spam in all of my email accounts and those that do turn up mailwasher flags 95%+ of them, a rare occurrence that I have to flag one for subsequent deletion.
