Standard Shield/Web shield Infected count
« on: October 14, 2009, 07:03:42 PM »
In the Standard Shield and Web Shield scan information areas it states that the infection count is at 2 after being scanned. There is no other information given and I'm just wondering if there is any action I have to take as far as removing these items. Is it automatically removed and just letting me know they were there? Any help appreciated!

The last infected: field should also show something if there was anything other yhan 0 in the infected count: field.

So have you had any alerts very recently ?
If so you would have been asked for an action to take, which did you choose ?

It is possible the web shield alerts followed by the standard shield if the download wasn't aborted/stopped.

When you reboot these fields and counts, etc. should be reset.

Is there a log of all the files blocked by the resident shields and where they came from?

Yes.

Oh you wanted to know where ;D

Check the avast! Log Viewer (right click the avast 'a' icon), Warning section, this contains information on all avast detections. C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashLogV.exe

- Or check the source file using notepad C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\log\Warning.log and copy and paste the entry.
