Think that your browser's private mode keeps your browsing completely private? Not so! More often than not, you're still leaving traces of your browsing session behind, and today we'll tell you how to get rid of them for truly private browsing.

Just for a friendly addendum, the article is about leaving fewer traces in the local computer you used for browsing.

Well, although I admit I'm using quite a lot of tricks in the article since I hate to find garbage in our computers but I wonder if they are practically needed for our daily usage...

To be clear, I didn't mean to deny the usefulness of the article but...yes, I felt the title may be misleading even at Lifehacker site...  Of course, the information should be useful when we know what it is about.  This is bit late but thanks for the heads-up, nmb.  ;)

I thought it was obvious when someone reads the article.. since it(cleaning up) is done only in the local computer.  ???

thanks for your view.  :)

That's the view from some computer literates.  I'm far from being a specialist in computers but I know the all the tricks except some batch file ones.  However, form my experience, I know that some people, actually, surprisingly many people, seem to think the net-browsing itself is private most likely because they can browse the net alone in their private rooms although it is not tough to reach the conclusion that it's not private at all since their machines and they are communicating through the net.

Exactly. add:the private browsing mode - isn't private. that is exactly what LH is trying to say.

However, it fails to mention the traces on the net, which is my point, here.

O.K.  Then, I guess we are repeating.  As I have already written, I thought that Life Hacker's expression of "truly private browsing" was somehow misleading for the majority most likely becasuse it is originally intended for computer literates.
