Uninstalling Avast deletes shared components
« on: June 10, 2004, 09:42:11 PM »
It seems that uninstalling Avast deletes the ActiveSkin component that might be used by other programs. (Such programs might be ComAgent by Alt-N)
The program using the ActiveSkin component then will not load and would require a reinstall to reinstall the missing ActiveSkin component.

Doing a clean install of the new build.  ;)

Hmm, it seems you're right.
Actually, the file is not deleted (it's handled according to the reference count - so if the other program installed it correctly, it will stay there). The problem is that the library is unregistered - which has mostly the same effect.
It should be fixed in the future builds. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hope so...
If not, will need to wait for 5.0?  ;D
I hope 4.5 would include features from the wishlist.  ::)

Well, I meant that it would be included in 4.5 - unless a big bad problem appears that would require immediate update even before 4.5; in that case, the fix may be included even earlier.

As for the wishlist... maybe some of the features will be included, but don't expect miracles. Even if the impossible-to-implement (or bad) ideas are filtered, the wishlist includes features for the next 5 years to implement ;)
